MATHERAN IN THE RAINS!!!

Have you ever been to a hillstation during rains? Most people say, its not safe to go to hill station during rains but Matheran is something else. This place becomes most beautiful only during rains and if you want to enjoy rains, this is the best place to go... If you hate rains, you will start enjoying it if you go here.

It was during July-2017, time of our usual girls trip of the year we chose Matheran. I had read articles about this beauty but experiencing it live was something indescribable. Never have ever got drenched in rain like this, never have we walked in rains for this long, never have we ever felt this good to be in rain 24/7. 

With lush green landscape everywhere and small streams of waterfalls flowing in between them and drizzling rains , this place is a heaven on earth. To enjoy this beauty is a blessing and we are happy that we chose this place for our girls trip.

We, gang of 3 school besties  boarded the flight from Bengaluru and my Office bestie from Mumbai made all the arrangements for this trip. So we 4 for us got set to go to this beautiful hill station.

This place is just around 3 hours drive from Mumbai.Added to it, no vehicles are allowed inside this cosy little town. So this place is pollution free as well.

There is a checkpoint beyond which no vehicles are allowed further, and then you can either walk or take a horse ride which is very very expensive of-course!

There is a toy train which runs from Neral to Matheran but it is closed during heavy rains. and when we went too it was closed. Our taxi dropped us in the entrance of Matheran and then from there we decided to walk, dance, run, smile and sing in the rain till we reach our little resort "THE WEST END" which was around 5Kms from there.

What a wonderful experience it was to walk in the rains, dance in the rain and enjoy every bit of it. It took us nearly 2 hours to reach the resort, because we were busy with clicking pics with this beauty that we forgot that it was getting late to reach our hotel for the night. It was around 6pm when we reached our hotel.

This hotel was chosen by my freind and it was the best hotel to enjoy Matheran. Their Ambience and food was amazing and the hotel was clean and tidy just as we want.

Soon after we reached the hotel, we got freshened up and went to party. The dance floor was set and the Dj was all ready to play our songs. We danced until we were tired and headed to enjoy our buffet dinner. The whole night flew away partying and enjoying the view of the rain pouring down.

We woke up next day and it was still pouring, we quickly had our breakfast and set out to leave this beautiful town. It again took another 3 hours to reach the entrance as we again got busy clicking crazy pictures all the way out.

Please note, this place has nothing much to offer other than the beautiful landscapes and the rains. Once you are here, you will never feel like going back.

Matheran and this rain turned out to be one the most memorable girls trip for us. Never thought rains will be so much fun too.
